"I grew up lower-middle class in Orange County listening to Punk Rock. My Mom was a single parent trying to raise 3 kids, so I wasn't exactly poor, but we weren't well-to-do by any means, we never had a safety net or jump start. When you spend your formative years trying to find enlightenment only to constantly be punched in the face by the reality that you can't afford to take a day off work, it sticks with you. This was an expression of that. I would have loved to have backpacked around the UK, or see Greece, or any of that generic shit, but my brother and I didn't have the time. You gotta pay the bills."
